Diesel Engine Fuel Injector Cleaner

the use of this Commercial Item Description
1. SCOPE. This Commercial Item Description describes a diesel engine fuel injector cleaner designed to
clean the fuel injectors of vehicles powered by diesel engines.
2 SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS.
2.1 Size The unit shall not exceed the following dimensions 45 inches m height, 20 inches in depth.
and 20 inches in length. Weight of the complete unit shall not exceed 100 lbs.
2.2 Design and construction. The unit shall be portable, and supplied with heavy duty wheels and
handles to facilitate movement. The unit shall be capable of withstanding the strains, shocks, and vibrations
incident to shipping and operation A storage tray, capable of holding 4 bottles of injector cleaner shall be
included. The unit shall include fuel cleaner and incoming air pressure gauges, controls for regulating
incommg shop air pressure, and two hoses of at least 5 feet in length, with standard connectors to allow
connection to both 3/8 and 1/4 inch fuel lines. Total time to clean the injectors shall not exceed 45 minutes.
2.3 A fuel cleaner pressure gauge that measures incoming air and a fuel cleaner pressure gauge shall be
provided with the unit. A fuel cleaner pressure and an air pressure regulator control knob shall be
incorporated into the design of the unit. The air pressure regulator shall adjust the shop air supply to control
fuel pressure to the vehicle's fuel system. The unit shall be provided with two - five foot long hoses with
standard adapters that enable proper fit with 3/8 inch and 1/4 inch fuel pressure test connectors. The unit
shall be provided with all necessary male and female line adapters , couplers, valved quick coupler
connectors, clamps, air brake unions, male threaded plugs and dual quick coupler loop adapters required to
service Caterpillar (Series 3114, 3176, 3208, 3306 and 3406), Detroit Diesel (Series 53, 60, 71 and 92),
Cummins (Series B5.9, C8.3, L10, N14 and 855), Mack (Series E5, E7 and E9 and Navistar (Series 7.3,
DT360 and DT466) diesel engines. The Unit shall be provided with a storage tray capable of
accommodating four, one quart bottles of injector cleaner.
